General Purchase or Service Conditions
Please know that Skyview is always willing to help with any product purchased from us outside of the manufacturers warranty.
The product(s) you have just purchased from Skyview include a manufacturers warranty, not a Skyview Warranty. Skyview is a product re-seller not a manufacturer. Please contact the manufacturer for support and/or warranty instructions within their warranty period unless you have purchased an optional Skyview Support package or warranty.
Product support whether over the phone, in-store or at your location is available, but subject to support charges. Skyview can help you with any technical problems and offers support plans to meet your needs. Please call the store for more details and rates.
Returns for a full refund can be made within 7 days of the original purchase, provided the item purchased is unopened, in the original packaging with all accessories and the original receipt.
Returns of opened products can be made within 7 days of the original purchase, but are subject to inspection and a restocking fee of 20-30% dependent upon the condition of the product and packaging.
Skyview retains the right to refuse returns based on the condition of the item and packaging or the nature of the product, for example software, hardware, installed items and/or factory sealed goods.
Skyview’s product policies apply to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.
Defective products may be exchanged up to 14 days after the initial purchase, for the identical item – provided the product is in original packaging and condition with all accessories and original receipt.
Computer Repairs and work are guaranteed for 30 days, covering both replacement parts and labour. Warranty does not cover virus re-infections, pre-existing conditions or damage outside of the scope of the work done. Service is done at a minimum of a 1 hour charge. It is understood that by leaving your computer with Skyview, you are contracting us to do the work detailed on the work order. Choosing to cancel a computer repair in the process of being repaired will still be subject to a minimum of 1 hour at the chosen rate to cover the technician’s time. Skyview will not be liable for any illegal copies of programs or software found on your computer. i.e. pirated, cracked or copied versions of Windows, Adobe Suite or games, etc. Skyview retains the right to hold hardware until full payment is made. Any computers left more than 90 days will be considered abandoned, will have all data wiped clean and be disposed of. We offer no recourse once this is done.
Standard Installation Warranty
- Warranty
This warranty is extended by Skyview Electronic Inc. to the purchaser of the Security system noted below. This warranty does not apply to products used for rental or re-sale purposes. - Scope of Hardware Warranty
Skyview Electronics Inc. warrants to owners that if the equipment specified below fails within 1 year from the date purchased due to a manufacturers defect, Skyview will within 30 days of receipt of the returned product, assume the cost of the parts deemed necessary by Skyview Electronics to repair the failed part. If the failed part cannot be repaired, Skyview Electronics will either (A) replace the part or (B) refund the full purchase price at Skyview Electronics Inc. sole discretion. - Scope of Installation Warranty
Skyview Electronics Inc. warrants to the owners that once the installation is completed, and approved by the customer the job will be considered completed and any additional or future work requested will be billed at the current per hour rate. The rate charged for installation includes work performed at the time of installation, not future work and service contracts can be purchased at the discretion of the customer if wanted. - Limitations on Warranty
This Warranty applies only to owners for ordinary household or business use. This warranty does not cover cosmetic changes, such as discoloration or the effects of the use of abrasives or cleaners. This Warranty is only valid if the system is used and installed in accordance with the accompanying instruction booklets and manufacturers recommendations. Abuse, misuse, negligent use, vandalism, conditions due to improper installation, power surges, destructive acts of nature, alteration of the cameras, wiring or DVR, container or parts, exposure to abnormal or extreme conditions, or failure to follow the operating instructions will void this warranty. The Warranty is void if repairs to the system are performed by someone other then Skyview Electronics or an authorized Skyview Electronics service provider. Skyview Electronics will not be responsible for the cost of any unauthorized repairs.
Warranty does not cover in-home service, or on-site labour.
This Warranty is the exclusive remedy of purchaser and the sole liability of Skyview Electronics Inc. No employee or representative of Skyview Electronics or any other person is authorized to make any other warranty or any modification to this Warranty. In no event, whether based on contract, indemnity, warranty, tort (Including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, shall Skyview Electronics be liable for any special indirect, incidental or consequential damages, including without limitation, loss of profit or revenue. - Return and Repair Procedure

Purchaser is responsible for the cost of the shipment back to the repair center above. Skyview will cover the cost of return shipping only if the problem is due to manufacturers defect within the first 30 days of the purchase. Purchaser is responsible for all additional charges. The purchaser will be deemed to have accepted the returned product ‘as is’ upon delivery unless you notify Skyview Electronics of any problem including shipment damage within 48 hours of delivery.
1 Year Optional Parts Warranty
(Only available on Security Systems for an additional fee – must be purchased at the time of installation or the original purchase)
- Warranty
This warranty is extended by Skyview Electronics Inc. to the purchaser of the Security system noted below. This warranty does not apply to products used for rental or re-sale purposes. - Scope of Warranty
Skyview Electronics Inc. warrants to owners that if the equipment specified below fails within 1 year from the date purchased due to manufacturers defect, Skyview will within 30 days of receipt of the returned product, assume the cost of the parts deemed necessary by Skyview Electronics to repair the failed part. If the failed part cannot be repaired for any reason, Skyview Electronics will replace the unit with the same model and/or a comparable model of the same value.
Skyview Electronics reserves the right not to service and or replace a unit if not plugged into a working power “surge” protector or UPS battery back up. Normal power bars do not qualify. - Limitations on Warranty

The Warranty is void if repairs to the system are performed by someone other then Skyview Electronics or an authorized Skyview Electronics service provider. Skyview Electronics will not be responsible for the cost of any unauthorized repairs.
Purchase of this Warranty does not cover in-home service, or on-site labor, which is available by request at an additional cost.
